Kekich’s Credo

davidkekich.jpgJuly 7, 1978 started as just another day for Dave Kekich. He was working out in the gym… without a care in the world. The next day, he found himself staring at a hospital room ceiling, connected to machines, unable to move anything below his arms.

In the twinkling of an eye, this long distance running, weight lifting, exercise fanatic became a spinal cord injured cripple. He spent the next 15 months on a round the World odyssey, looking for a cure that didn’t exist—and finally came back home to Pennsylvania. He spent the next 19 years raising money for paralysis research, with one main goal: to walk again.

You can learn a lot from Dave Kekich. And here’s your chance…Dave’s 100 Credos in their entirety:

1. People will do almost anything to stay in their comfort zones. If you want to accomplish anything, get out of your comfort zone. Strive to increase order and discipline in your life. Discipline usually means doing the opposite of what you feel like doing. The easy roads to discipline are 1) setting deadlines, 2) discovering and doing what you do best and what’s important and enjoyable to you and 3) focusing on habits by replacing your bad habits and thought patterns, one-by-one, over time, with good habits and thought patterns.

The Good Life

Published by fongrich on Tagged Business Journal

I really can’t complain. Life has been good. I’ve been on 2 vacations this year. Costa Rica and Europe. I’ll be going to Asia this Fall. My regular schedule is very flexible. I do what I want to do. I may wake up and go to yoga studio to do some yoga. I may get up at noon and just chill at a coffee shop while surfing or doing light r&d. In the evening, I may hangout with friends or go to karate practice or just chill and learn whatever I want. The main thing is I have all the freedom and not bored for a minute. I don’t even own a tv, but I feel very entertained at all times. This is the life I dreamed when I was working at my 9-5 sitting in that cubical thinking of better days to come.

I am not going to hype it. My business has been a bit stag the last couple of month because I’ve been busy enjoying life and not been developing too much. But that’s ok. I still make enough to pay rent/bills and go on vacations. It’s about to change soon. I am working on some new projects that will take me to the next level if everything works out as planned. Sometimes, it’s about timing and good luck. Preparation and hard work does play a role, but when things are aligned you just don’t have to work that hard to get what you want out of life.

Happy New Year!! 2008 - The Year of Growth and Solidification

Published by fongrich on Tagged Internet Marketing

Alright, it’s been a while since my last post.. My income has stayed about the same and I worked about less than 10 hours a month if that.. I was enjoying life taking classes and meeting new people. Although, there was a sense of guilt stewing since I wasn’t doing anything to grow my business. I’ve heard, if you’re not growing you’re dying.. and I believe that to be true in anything. However, it was so hard for me to do even an hour of work at the end of ‘07, I was so complacent with my $5k/month.

This new year, I want to get my income to $15K/month and I won’t stop working until I get there! I have a new strategy that I am really excited about. It’s article marketing X10.. The new strategy is Web 2.0. It’s the wild west as the email marketing of early ’90’s meaning this is really new and powerful, the money is out for grabs but won’t last. I plan to set up many different niches and see what I can grab for the year. Eventually, I would love to find a solid niche that I can dig into and build a deep and wide foundation to build a solid business.

To learn about web 2.0 strategy I’ve enrolled in a few programs..

immediateedge.com - Ed Dale, create of 30 Day Challenge is running this program with Dan Raine. They’re both masters at internet marketing. The newsletter is worth the admission itself. I was just reading it last night and they game some gems that could be very profitable with action.
stompernetpresents.com/SMARTS/ - This is a new program created by the StomperNet folks. I just signed up and it has started, so not much to comment expect these guys always over deliver. I would feel left behind if I didn’t see what they have to say.
conversationdomination.com - This guy is new to me and he has some very interesting strategies. The membership site is pretty basic but more than enough to get you started and start dominating niche keywords.

I’ve just started working my ass off again this year so not much update on my results. I’ve opened up a few web 2.0 properties and it was pretty easy, but been learning more than taking action per say. Next week will be mostly action.
