August Was A Lazy Month for Me… Still made $1,273

Published by fongrich on Tagged Adsense Update

So I have been kind of slacking off the last 2 weeks, not really doing much with Adsense other than some research. I don’t have many projects outsourced, so it was less demanding on my time. I’ve been taking it easy… This is about to change soon. I have started some projects on elance.com and hired 5 writers already. Each will be writing a content for a niche website. I plan to pump out at least 10 websites in Sept. The inspiration came from that niche health website I build about 2-3 months ago. It made $100 this month and growing. So if I have 10 sites… you do that math. That’s just the beginning of that site too, so it should generate more as it gets older.

I spent $106.73 on Adword for the diet site which grossed $317.46. The other sites stayed about the same. One event that really got me thinking this month was when my web hosting went down for 30 hours. It was the bluehost account which this blog is hosted on. Really ticked me off since I was not making any money when it was down. Call them but they just told me the hard drive when bad and needed time to fix it… Not much I can do. I thought about a dedicated server, but I don’t have enough websites to justify the expense ($100/month).

Adsense also pulled the plug on one of my website this month, because they didn’t like how I had pictures next to the ad. This is a widely used practice, but I guess there was an element they didn’t like. I did pull it off before the 3 day warning, but forgot to take it out of the index page. The important thing is have good communication with the Google people and they’re pretty responsive. Got my ad serving again after 3 days. I had a really bad day when I found out my ad was pulled. I thought this was going to be it. My dreams crashing down… That’s why it’s so important to do everything clean and diversify your income. I really need to start focus on other revenues once I start hitting 3-5K mark.

This is a great income but the problem with passive income is that it’s really easy to become stagnant, because you can do almost nothing and still keep the level of income. Only hard work and effort will make this business grow. I guess that’s a good and bad, but I need to RETIRE!!! So I better kick some ass this month.

    Hi,

It is great to here about your success and I really like your blog. By the time I am bit puzzled, because I lost the overview about the number and kinds of websites you are running. Would be possible to have a (static) page with a kind of inventory?

Would you mind telling more about your marketing approach for your sites? What do you do to promote them?

    Regards,
    D.
