Dec ‘06 Revenue = $1315.40
Published by fongrich on Tagged Adsense UpdateHappy New Year! December was a slow month with lots of roller coaster of emotions. First, it started with finding out that my abritrage doesn’t work anymore, so there goes a few hundred from a site. Then, I found out that most of my new websites are going into Supplement Results. That’s Google’s secondary index. It means, they know your page exist, but it’s on a second rated index. It’ll only show up in Search Engine Result Page (SERP) when there’s nothing better. In other words, this is bad! You won’t get traffic in the supplemental. I pretty much freaked out when I saw that most of my new sites are in this. I asked my link exchange outsourcers to stop their work, because I thought maybe it was the way I was getting or linking to other sites. Then I did lots of research on this subject and found that Google is doing this to many new sites. One way to get out of it is through deep links to your internal pages from other sites. A good way to do this is through article submissions. This is what I have been doing in January. It’s actually a really good SEO strategy because you can control a lot more than having links outsourced. Plus, it’s relatively easy to track and manage.
I didn’t really make any new sites last or this month, because I want to make sure that I was doing things right before moving on with mass production. A new idea that has struck me from my reading was to build smaller (5pg) sites and do more promotions first through article submission. I might try this strategy as well. Bottom line, I have to get busy!
One of my new year resolution was to keep more track of my projects and expenses. I also try to work on my side biz an average of 2 hours a day. Either way, I feel like I procrasinate and is not the most efficient with my projects. But I plan to change all that and just get things done.
