March ‘07 Net Income = $2,919.38
Published by fongrich on Tagged Adsense UpdateMarch was another good month. Income grew steadily over last month: about $750 or 35% from February. The funny thing is that I haven’t built any sites since late January. Still the same 20 sites. These sites kick in after a few months. So I don’t expect my income to increase as dramatically in April because I didn’t lay the ground works with new sites in the previous months. Why not? Because I was too buy with a full-time job, doing article submission and other misc things like learning and experimenting with affiliate promotions.
This month, the first month of working for myself full time, I plan to pump out numerous sites and build a system to do it with ease in the future. That will include finding the key outsourcers and creating a channel with as little of my involvement as possible. It’s going to take quite a bit of work and it’ll be a bit slow in the beginning, but after it’s set up I can see a couple sites being pumped out and properly promoted each day. This of course will cost a bit, so it’s probably better to take it slow and figure everything out before going into full production.
I am going back to Private Label Rights (PLR) content as they’re cheaper for me to rewrite than creating all original content. My goal now is to cast a wide net with my sites in all sorts of niches. Once I see some potential in a certain niches, I can build deep and wide on that niche. Meaning, I can grow the site and create a network of sites to feed the money site in that niche. I will also be placing a strong emphasis in affiliate programs. Currently, I make more money from Adsense. I’ve come to realize that it’s a low end business. Meaning it’s easy money, but there’s a lot more money to be make in affiliate marketing. Besides, I really need to diversify my income now that it’s my primary source of income which is pretty risky.
One good affiliate program that gives you a commission of $35 per sale can easily generate $1K for you if you sell average of 1/day. That’s only 100-200 unique visitor depending on conversion and backend setup, so it’s very feasible and more lucrative than Adsense by itself. As one affiliate expert said, “Going after Adsense cash is like stepping over dollars for pennies.” I find this to be true. Adsense is not reliable in that you have to start over each day and month. Versus if you collect email and sell or promote products, you have a customer base you can email and generate revenue at will. That’s a real business. However, this month, I plan to spend 80% of my time to setup my Adsense network and 20% to research and develop affiliate marketing and other revenue stream. Since my Adsense network has a finite timeline for completion, the porportion of my time will change in the next few months as I develop the system for it to grow without much of my input and focus more on affiliate marketing.
Here’s the breakdown of my Revenue for this month:
Adsense: $2,381.12
Aff: 258.05
Kontera: $280.21
BTW: I am debating whether to continue posting my income.. When it was small and insignificant, it didn’t really matter and fun to watch. However, as this business grows and I see it growing at a fairly fast pace as I have a lot more time dedicated to this, the number can become… a little uncomfortable for me to share with rest of the world. I know gurus love to post how much they make, but I am not here to impress anyone or sell any guide to riches. (It’s free!) I am a somewhat modest and private guy, so I don’t want everyone to know how much I’m making. I think I’ll cap reporting at $5k/month. That’s a $60K/year salary which is nothing to sneeze at, but nothing to get crazy over either. My goal is to achieve this in 2-4 months.
