My Shameless Plug Into Adsense

Published by fongrich on Tagged Internet Marketing

I decided to finally mess around with Wordpress Blog Theme and plug in some Adsense. I currently don’t get too much traffic so I don’t plan to make anything from this site. I figure, since this site is all about making money online, it would be down right hypocritcal if I didn’t have some Adsense on this site. Anyway, I want you to notice a few things from my adsense layout. You can learn a thing or two….

  • My Adsense link color matches the links from my sidebar. Always have you Adsense link in consisent color with the theme of your site.
  • Notice the URL is in black and not the usual green as most sites have it. This makes you pay more attention to the title of the ad rather than the url.
  • I have 3 Adsense Ads and 1 Ad Link. That’s the maximum you can have per page. Always maximize on the Ad. More exposure, the higher CTR.
  • Ad link is mixed in with the navigation. Google ad is mixed in with the content… somewhat. It’s harder with a blog, but it’ll take too much work to really mix it in. I may do that in the future, but I literally spent 10 minutes to get this setup.
  • The first ads is positioned almost at the center of the page. This maximize viewing exposure and increases CTR.
  • If I wanted to get really fancy. I place some small picture along side the ads, which will catch the eye immediately. However, that’s a lot more work and it’s not worth it right now.

Alright, these are a few important tip to improving your Adsense Click Through Rate.

This is the first thing that threw me off. You have 3+1 ads per post, with 9+3 total per page. Is this an Adsense violation?

I think you’re talking about individual ads. I meant ad blocks. Google servers several ads in one ad block, but you can only have 3 ad blocks and 1 ad link block.
