Nov. ‘06 Revenue - $1607.74

Published by fongrich on Tagged Internet Marketing, Adsense Update

I have been extremely busy and lazy this month so have not made the effort to post additional entries other than my revenue report. But this month was pretty exciting. I made $1607.74 of which $75 was affiliate and the rest were Adsense. I spent $174.65 on Adword. Speaking of which… that’s over with. Google has decided to put an end to arbitrage. They gave me what experts call a ’small google slap’ in that all my important words are now 15 - 20 cents min, which makes it impossible for me to turn it into profit from Adsense alone. If I had a stronger back sale established maybe I can weather this, but I rather focus on the front end of building more site right now and worry about that later. So arbitrage is over for now.

Another major development is that one of my niche sites has hit the first page of Google on many of the important keywords. Traffic literally tripled overnight. Earning only doubled. It’s making about $8-12/day. I plan to add a forum and give out a free report with an affiliate to maximize the traffic value. The important thing is that my process is working. All I have to do is replicate it a few dozen times and I’ll be sitting pretty :)

My cellphone site has picked up traffic/revenue as well and it’s mainly due to the reviews that I had someone write for me. Apparently, it’s not that hard to get into the cellphone site industry, but I don’t recommend it. The Click Through Rate is low and it doesn’t pay much. Not what I thought… Still makes about $10/day though which I am not complaining about.

I published 10 new sites and started search engine optimizing on all of them. I am trying different providers and methods on several sites so I’ll know what works best. Too early to tell right now, but I am getting some good results from a few. I estimate each site will bring in an average of 1 dollar a day the first 2 month and additional $1-2/day every month after peaking at $10-15/day or so in 4-6 months. That’s 10 sites * $12.5/day * 30 day = $3,750. I am going to add 10 sites every month till Jan. 2007, that’s about when my budget runs out. I need reserves to keep up the SEO cost.

I made a pretty interesting model. I’ll be bleeding cash the first 3 - 4 months because each website cost about $500 for it to be developed and SEO for the first 3 months, but then a light maintance of SEO cost and I’ll be rolling in cash. 30 sites will bring in about $10K/month :) Not bad to start my new internet journey. I project April to be breakeven point and end of ‘07 to be hitting my target 10k/month.

I decided to not use Private Label Articles. The reason is that in the end of the day, it is duplicate content to an extent and it’s not niche focused as if I were to make it myself. Might as well shell out a few hundred to create and unique, focused site then spend all that SEO money and time on dupe content. I haven’t tried PLA at all, I am sure it works for now, but I don’t want to feel like I am building a house of cards.

I only got 2 sites in development for Dec. and need to really focus to push out 8 more by mid Dec. Although my earning has been stagging the last few months, I think it’ll start rolling again soon.

PS. Let me know if you have questions. Unless someone asks me a question, I’ll probably won’t be adding more entries other than my monthly updates. So ask if you want to know more.

    Hi,

Thanks for all this helpful information. It would be great if you have time to update your portfolio page.

What kind of SEO work do you do, when you have built the site?

Once you wrote, that you outsource article writing. Do you keep on with this? You intended to put some 25-30 articles on your websites. Is this enough or do you feed your sites with more content?

What kind of content do you use anyway?

Thanks for your time and efforts,
    D.
