June 2007 Earning - $4,365.14
Published by fongrich on Tagged Adsense Update, Business JournalFinally, my efforts from April and May have kicked in. There are some new sites that are making well over $30 and even one making $150/month! That’s pretty incredible growth. On average my new sites (3 months or less) are making $17.67/month. I currently have 117 sites total and got another 40 in the pipeline.
Adsense: $3,635.18
Aff: 465
Kontera: 200
AuctionAd 65
I plan to slow down building these mini sites as they were originally intended to be test beds for profitable markets. Since I’ve found a few interesting markets in finance, insurance, remodeling and other small niches, I’ll pursue these markets with more depth. I am not sure how Adsense revenue will stand as many articles run out for ezine publication. I have assigned more articles to the profitable portion of sites. For the lower performing sites, I will stop doing anything more and just let them age and see. Worst case scenario they’ll be good link pages.
Productivity and Purpose:
I track the amount of time I actually work. This month with my internet down and just generally being lazy, I’ve worked 56 hours. My hourly rate $4,365/56 = $78. Not a bad deal, but the truth is I am running out of stuff to do with my current strategy as my freelancers do most of the work. I coordinate through email and messenger, and do my R&D. I want to be busier, because I have not achieved a point of financial independence or diversified my income much. Taking it easy is nice, but not when there are serious objectives to be met.
I want to focus on 3 other types of sites for 3rd quarter..
Blog Network: I find blog to be extremely easy to publish and update. It has has a good seo factor to it with ping. However, I haven’t totally mastered the art of blog traffic, but I would like to focus more creating big blog sites on the profitable markets.
Mega Sites: I’d like to create 50-200 pages sites with datafeed and directory for certain markets. These sites will be money sites that will generate lots of affiliate sales and authority status.
Product Site: I’d also like to try my hand at selling some sort of product either through drop shipping or information products. I’ll test the market through ebay and/or PPC and go from there.
Life Without Internet
Published by fongrich on Tagged Business JournalMy internet was disconnect since last Thursday and it won’t be back on until this Friday. So I have no internet for more than a week. For the first few days, life came to a stand still. I seriously didn’t know what to do with myself. Internet has taken over my life. It’s my income, entertainment, communication, and boredom killer in general. I think many can relate. The last few days have been different.
I bought a cheap laptop so I can check emails at Panera Bread, but I haven’t really done any production work. All I’ve done is pay my writers and check a little bit of work. I hate working on laptops since I’m used to working with my dual screen.
The reality is my business has actually grown a bit despite my lack of connectivity and work. Thanks to my outsource team, business is running as usual. I think this is certainly an unintended test that this business can exist without me. Although, I have a feeling things will start to slow down over a long period of time without my input.
I am going to enjoy my internet fasting and see what the non-internet world has to offer. So far, I’ve cleaned my patio for the first time this year, played badminton for hours, watched avg of 3 movies a day, read a little bit, and explored my community
May ‘07 Net Income = $3,012.78
Published by fongrich on Tagged Adsense UpdateI finally broke the $3K mark! Although growth was a bit slower than expected from last month. It’s mainly due to me stopping an affiliate program that was not paying me! I guess that does happen even on cj.com. The lesson is to really trust your affiliate company before you go all out and start building sites and campaigns for them. In any case, my Adsense kicked up to make the difference.
Here’s the spread:
Adsense - $2631.84
Aff - $186
Kontera - $194.94
The really good news is that this month’s earning is definitely going to be solid. Yesterday, I made a record $140 from Adsense! Today is looking to hit over $100 from the current numbers. So I think I should get close the $4K this month.
I currently have 93 sites published and got another 50+ in the pipeline. After these sites are complete, I am going to slow down these type of sites and start focusing on Money sites with datafeed, email, and a bigger site in general. I am also looking into building blog networks.
In terms of productivity in May: The first 2 weeks were pretty productive, but the last two weeks in May was less great. I spent most of my time last 2 weeks reading and pretty much taking a break. I was working on average 10hr/week. I guess it was to celebrate my 1yr online with adsense. But I was able to do it while growing my business because I had a system setup and people were still working for me around the clock while I just send out a few emails to get things rolling. Not a bad deal.
During my mini-vacation I read a book called “The Four Hour Work Week” by Tim Ferriss. It’s really an excellent read. He mentions everything I’ve known about leverage and systems, but he validates it and gave me a couple of new ideas on how to implement this new era of rich from the internet.
