Purchased Another Website
Published by fongrich on Tagged Adsense UpdateI spent $1K to purchase another website. It’s sports related. Good niche, but extremely competitive. The site is about 4 months old so it’s still in Google’s sandbox (6-8 months where google doesn’t give you good results, because the site is so new). The site itself is very well optimized with Adsense. I plan only to do a little tweaking, but no major migration needed. I’ll do some link building and add some more content. It also has affiliate feeds for the sport equipment and many ebook with affiliate links. The site definitely has a lot of potiential.
It already earned me $2.57 today. However, the first day always earn more for some reason. It was advertised as earning about $50 a month, including the affiliate revenue. I’ll have to change that around. Since this site is already so optimized, this will be a search engine optimization project. Only problem is it has a lot of public articles which leads to duplicate content and questionable outgoing links. We’ll see how it works out since I never had to deal with that. In any case, DMOZ (Open Directory) didn’t seem to mind it. It’s listed there which is a huge plus in my book.
8-9-06 was another record day. $54.60 today! Many of my efforts are kicking in now, which gives me more confidence to pursue some of the strategies in a bigger scale. I even thought about cashing out my 401K to buy more websites… But that thought only lasted for a few seconds
One thing is for sure, I am never buying stocks again with my liquid cash. With websites, you buy it for the Price Earning of 1 or 2 which means you get your money back in a year or two vs stocks where you can actually lose money, it’s ridiculously overvalued and 100% return is never consistent.
I do plan to start building some more different niche sites in masses maybe 5-10 and get the ball rolling with my Private Label Articles. It’ll take me a couple of months to get my first dime, but once I am there it should generate a nice incoming forever.
