Retirement Date Set
Published by fongrich on Tagged UncategorizedSo it’s set. I plan to retire from the corporate world month, date 2007. I started working after graduation on month, date 2003. (I don’t want to put in my exact date, just incase someone who shouldn’t be reading this is reading it) So it’ll be my 4 year anniversary. Pretty fitting since, it’s 4 years of high school, 4 years of college, and now 4 years of corporate. I have a feeling the next 4 years will be the most exciting of all. Lots of changes are about to come into my life.
Yesterday, I made about $67 from Adsense. So from my initial goal of $100/day, I am 67% there. But from further calculation with my current living expense and future living expense of when I retire, I’ll probably need close to 4-5K a month to feel comfortable. Currently, I spend about $2K a month on rent, food, entertainment, misc. When I retire, I’ll have to buy my own health insurance which will add a few hundred. Plus, I plan to take many classes and do a lot more social things. I will have 50 extra hours, and I don’t plan on using all of it for work. I think I’ll work at most an average of 5 hours a day. So that leaves me with plenty of time to learn and screw around. All that cost money. So in reality, I’ll need a bit more income so I don’t feel like I am living pay check to pay check.
By the way, I am not actually at 67% of $100/day. My average earning is coming in to $48/day, so I actually have a bit of ways to go. However, that was only 4 months of progress. I expect next 4 months to be just as productive, if not more so. I have stopped purchasing websites which was what really exploded my growth. I am building my own network of 30 niche sites. It’s much cheaper but it does take more time. I am still tempted to buy sites, just because there’s so much value in it. You can earn your money back in a year or so and it’ll keep earning for you year after year. Given, that’s if the search engine god smiles on you. But it’s still a very good return and you can’t find that in anything else. Oh well, I don’t have enough cash to buy sites for now. It’s better that I build my own sites. I’ll have more sites to work worth and can really focus on the ones with good potential later on. Versus, spending a few thousand to buy only one.
I do have to say that I am really excited/anxious about retirement. This working thing is just NOT for me. I am so bored here. It’s really a waste of my talent and capability. I keep thinking I could be at home making me a lot more money, why the hell am I here? Well, the thing is my side income have not met my reality yet, but it will soon!
