Signed Up to Rich Schefren’s Coaching Program
Published by fongrich on Tagged Business JournalI went to an internet conference last weekend hosted by Frank Kern and Ed Dale. They were the one’s who had that 30 day challenge where they taught people how to create an info product from scratch in 30 days (I had an entry about this). Anyway, the conference was held in San Diego. It was an amazing experience. My first conference and I was absolutely inspired and empowered. I learned so much. The most important thing I learned was that all the successful gurus all went through a mentor or coach from so other guru. You really have to model yourself after a successful internet guru. Sure there’s a LOT of information out there, but you really need someone’s guidance to help you break it down and tell you what is important and how to go about things. A mentor/coach will explain things on a deeper level, thus taking you to the next level.
There were many top internet marketers at the conference names like John Carlton (Master copy writer), Jeff Walker (Inventor of Product Launch Formula), and most importantly Rich Schefren. There were about 6 speakers all very informative and inspiring. But Rich Schefren was who I really wanted to hear. As you know, I have been following him ever since he came out with the Internet Manifesto a few months ago. He had a coaching program which I think was sold out within a few days. I have regretted not signing on, and thought if the opportunity were to offer itself again, I’d be on it like white on rice. As luck would have it, he did open up the coaching program only to the people at the conference. He said the first 10 people who sign up would get an hour one on one phone call with him. I was number 3
His speech was powerful. A few points…
Did you know that back in the days (late 80’s early 90’s) they used to have conference on how to make money doing infomercials? That’s when the television deregulated and infomercials were allowed again. A lot of people made money, but now it’s a consolidated business where only the big boys play. Same thing with those 1-800 numbers. As with all things, it’ll get increasing competitive for the little guys to complete. The internet is still new and there’s still a lot of opportunities out there. It’s like the wild wild west and you have your flag to stake your claim, but it won’t always be there.
Some money generating ideas are just a technical glitch that you can take advantage of to make a lot of money, but it’s not a business. When things change and your technical advantage is gone, you’re done. You should think it’s a business, because it’s just a short term thing. A real business is something that can grow and become increasingly harder for your competitors to get in. The best system is something that’ll grow by itself. You will need to sacrifice to get your business to that level, but you have to do it or else it’ll be just be a pet that always need you around for it to run.
You should build a business around your strength. Not your knowledge (which many people confuse for strength), but your natural ability that is better than most people. With your strength + experience + knowledge, you can become the best at your game and it’s the highest chance of success.
Anyway, the coaching problem is a year long costs $5K. There’s forums, weekly material, teleseminars, and personal consultation with email support. I am really excited about this, and hope that it will take me to the next level in my internet business.
