Why Aren’t You Getting Into Internet Marketing?

The fact is, as much or little as I am making, I am still pretty new to the game (10 months). But I feel I have made amazing progress and my growth is accelerating at a pretty fast pace. So I tell people a little about my success and telling them to join me. “Get in on the ground floor” if you will. It’s funny, because most of them give me some lame excuse.. I don’t have time, I don’t have the tech know how, I have kids, yada yada.. And I think to myself, if I were in his/her shoes, would I be able to do it? Can I squeeze in that 2-3 hours everyday and sacrifice a few things like TV, family time, sleep.. So I can have a steady passive income in the future? The answer is always a big “YES!”
If I asked them, “If someone is willing to pay you $100K this year for you to keep your current job and lifestyle, but you have to make an extra 3-4 hours everyday for 1 year and do this internet business AND after that year you’ll continue to have an extra $100K without any conditions, will you be able to take it on?” I am guess most people will be very motivated to take it on and find that all their mental blocks/excuses quickly melt away.
The reality, if you’re a newbie to this Internet Marketing game, you won’t make $100K the first year. You’ll probably spend a lot more than you make due to learning curve and testing. However, if you’re persistent and willing to take some risks with your time and money, you can easily make over $10K/month. The range of time varies, but I’d say in less than 2-3 years. Is that too long? Well… How long did you go to college for? Did you get an exponential growth salaried job after you graduate? Think about it…
I think the underlining factor in all this is belief. If you believe it’s possible, it’s absolutely is. If you have doubts, it’s very difficult to burn the midnight oil while losing money for too long. So how to conquer this? For me, when I tell “civilians” about my Internet biz, most are amazed. “Do people really make money online?” The fact is, they just don’t hear about it on the news that much, it’s a pretty new industry so it just seems very odd that someone with a day job could actually pull in that much money at night. In any case, the best method I find to conquer this belief is to actually read about successful people who are already doing this. I go on forums all the time with very successful Internet Marketer. They talk about how they first got started and their current successes. Even reading a blog like this will help you realize that it IS possible. People do change their life for the better over this. It’s an amazing business. Once things are set up correctly there’s no “I don’t have time, I don’t have money..” It’s more of, how much money DO I want to make this year and how much time do I want to work a day?

Word of caution: This is a free forum, so there are many beginners/losers in there too. You have to filter through their neg. BS. I also go to an $800/month community forum. That’s the MIT of Internet Marketing where Internet millionaire hangout and teach about their strategies. Everything is gold. However, for those free forums, you have to sift through the BS, but it’s still a good resource because many successful marketers are on this forum as well.
Warrior forum is actually really good for a beginner because not only do they teach you basic strategies, they also have a motivation section. That’s helpful for most beginners. For me, I went straight to the $800/month program when I was pulling in $1K/month. I can’t tell you how wise that decision was. It has just made my success that much faster. Because it’s not about working hard, it’s about working smart and going to the right direction.
Another important thing: When you’re new, a lot of internet marketing will be geared to sell information products to you. And they’ll be VERY persuasive. There are a lot of good products out there, and you should invest a couple hundred on a few products you feel are good. However, don’t just buy it read and forget it. You must take action on every product your purchase right away or stop buying!! There are lots of beginners who have stacks of internet marketing info on their hard drive and they’ve been in the game for 2-3 years without much success. Why? Because they just around going for the next quick fix. Don’t do that. Get a view of the landscape (there are many models out there) pick the one or two you like and just FOCUS on ACTION!! I will do a whole entry on this, but just keep in mind NOT to be one of those OCD learners. Be an OCD action taker!!
